Ephesians 2:10 – For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Hi everyone, I’m Kathie! I’m new at this blogging thing so bear with me. They tell me I should do an “about me” page but after considering all the trivial things I could say “about me,” I decided that Ephesians 2:10 pretty much sums up who I am and what my life is all about. Everything else is just in-between stuff. So, let’s get to the heart of who I really am and who you really are. We are God’s Workmanship! That’s what this blog is all about.
Imagine that! We are God’s workmanship! The word indicates “a thing made,” a “handiwork,” a “masterpiece.” It is derived from the Greek word “poiema” and translates into English as “poem.” Taking this into consideration, Ephesians 2:10 could read, “For we are God’s poem, His masterpiece, written by Christ Jesus which God prepared beforehand that we should express His love to the world.” A masterpiece is considered a person’s greatest work! What an honor given us, that in Christ, God would consider us to be His greatest work, His masterpiece of grace, a living poem, to be the expression of the heart of God, for all mankind to read.
It is my hope through this blog to share with others the living poem of his grace in me, through the written poems that he, by his grace, has given to me. May each one of you come to see yourself as the masterpiece he has created you to be in Christ Jesus, to the glory of his name, and the praise of his grace!
A poem can touch a heart in just a moment’s time
With words of love expressed in harmony and rhyme
A workmanship of love created from within
An expression of the heart written by the hand
What an honor given us that through you and me
God would write a living poem for all the world to read
For in Christ we are God’s workmanship created thus to be
The expression of the heart of God
For all mankind to read
